The future of Figure Skating begins now and it looks bright! From tomorrow, August 20 until October 11 2025, the next generation of Figure Skating stars will light up the ice in the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2025/26. More than 300 young athletes from across the globe will compete in seven exciting events across Europe and Asia. The top performers will earn their place in the prestigious Final, set to take place in Nagoya (JPN) from December 4-7, 2025. Expect breathtaking performances and a lot of excitement as these rising stars shape the future of competitive Figure Skating. Since 1997, the ISU Junior Grand Prix Series has offered the next generation of figure skaters a unique stage to showcase their talent, passion, and potential to the world. Kicking off tomorrow, the 2025/26 edition will feature some of the sport’s brightest rising stars, such as three-time ISU World Junior Champion Mao Shimada (JPN), reigning 2025 ISU World Junior Champion Rio Nakata (JPN), as well as 2024 World Junior Champion and 2025 World Junior silver medalist Minkyu Seo (KOR). These champions return to the circuit alongside a wave of new contenders - each eager to demonstrate how far they have come after weeks of intense preparation leading into the season.

These young skaters will not only gain valuable experience from one event to the next, but also have the opportunity to connect with new fans along the way. This season marks a milestone, as Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates host an ISU Junior Grand Prix event for the very first time - underscoring the ISU’s commitment to expanding into new regions, growing the sport, and making it more accessible worldwide. Promoting development, diversity and inclusivity is one of the key pillars of the ISU’s Vision 2030 strategic framework, which is designed to modernize governance and elevate ice-skating sports to new heights.

How do skaters qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final?
Skaters compete in a maximum of two events and collect points. The top six Single Skaters, Pairs and Ice Dance Couples will then qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Nagoya (JPN) December 4-7, 2024, where they will be competing for the title of ISU Junior Grand Prix Final Champion(s).

The Global Prize money per individual event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is US$ 22.500,00 (for events without Pair Skating US$ 15,740) which will be awarded to each medal winner for each category as follows:

Selection Criteria
More than 300 young Skaters from over 50 ISU Members are expected to compete in this year’s Series. Each ISU Member is entitled to enter competitors for the Series while the number of their entries depends on the results achieved at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2025.
