Ice Dance Legends Torvill and Dean honored at ISU Home of Skating in Milan

British Ice Dance legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean were honored during a special visit to the ISU Home of Skating in Milan, where they were celebrated for their extraordinary contribution to Figure Skating history.
Upon their entrance to the Home of Skating, the iconic duo was welcomed by ISU President Jae Youl Kim and ISU Director General Colin Smith, while an on-screen projection showcased their unforgettable Olympic Gold Medal-winning performance to Boléro by Maurice Ravel at the 1984 Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo.

“It is a privilege to welcome Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to our Home of Skating in Milan”, said ISU President, Jae Youl Kim. “Their performance in Sarajevo remains among the most extraordinary achievements in the history of our sport. Their artistry and excellence continue to inspire skaters and fans across generations, and their legacy has shown itself to be special, iconic and long-lasting.”

The emotional screening transported guests back to 1984, when Torvill and Dean achieved perfect 6.0 scores for artistic impression, setting a benchmark in Ice Dance that continues to inspire generations of skaters worldwide.
